Unlocking pulver.Communicator for use with other SIP Networks

To unlock pulver.Communicator for use with other SIP networks it is necessary to first obtain an activation key for the application.  

Acquiring an Activation Key

To acquire a key you must provide the following information:

  • Free World Dialup Account Identifier (number or name)

  • A valid email address (to which the Activation Key will be sent)

  • An IM network identifier (to be used for authentication)

  • The hard disk serial number for the target computer (for more information, click here)

Note:  Activation Keys are uniquely configured for their designated pulver.Communicator installation, and thus these codes cannot be used to unlock instances of the pulver.Communicator application that reside on other systems.

Unlocking pulver.Communicator

  1. Once you have obtained an Activation Key, invoke Communicator's Tools|Options command.

The pulver.Communicator options dialog will display.

  1. Activate the SIP Settings tab by clicking on it one time.

  1. Enter the acquired Activation Key into the appropriate field and click Apply Activation Key.  The settings fields at the top of the dialog -- Domain/Realm, SIP Proxy, Outbound Proxy, and STUN -- will activate.

  2. Change the SIP settings as appropriate for your chosen SIP service provider and click OK.

  3. Restart pulver.Communicator to put the new SIP settings into effect.

Determining the Serial Number for a Hard Disk

  1. In Windows, open a DOS window.

    a.  Click the Start button.

    b.  Click the Run command.  The Run dialog will display.

    c.  Type cmd into the Run dialog field and click OK or press the Return key.

  2. Type dir c: at the prompt.  An 8-character value in xxxx-xxxx format will display, indicating the serial number for the hard disc.
