When adding contacts to your Buddy List one at a time, pulver.Communicator provides a means for giving the contact a Display Name (refer to Adding Buddies: Adding a Contact to the Buddy List). When a Buddy List import is performed from another IM Network, however, the contacts are added to the pulver.Communicator Buddy List in IM Network/IM Network Name format (i.e., Yahoo/Charlie_Parker). For this reason -- and because you may wish to rename a Buddy for any other reason at any time -- pulver.Communicator provides renaming functionality.
Highlight the contact on your Buddy List whose display name you wish to change, or the Group that is to be renamed.
The selected display name will activate.
| Note: Another way to activate a display name is to click on it again once it has already been highlighted (not a double-click per se, but a click-and-then-another-click). |
Type the new display name into the activated field.
Click the Enter key or move the cursor to any different location to deactivate the display name field and complete the renaming.
| Note: Display names can also be edited via the Buddy Properties dialog (refer to Viewing Buddy Properties). The Display name field is present at the top of all information sections for the dialog, and it can be edited. Any renaming performed via the Buddy Properties dialog will complete when the dialog is exited via the OK button. |
| Note: Skype contacts, which are directly populated at login, cannot be permanently deleted via pulver.Communicator. Users wishing to permanently delete a Skype contact from their Skype Buddies group must delete that contact using the Skype application. |
Highlight the contact on your Buddy List who is to be deleted, or the Group that is to be deleted.
Note: Another way to delete a contact or group is to highlight it and to subsequently press the Delete key. A confirmation dialog will display.
Click Yes to complete the deletion.
| Note: You can delete more than one contact or group at a time by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking the entities that are to be deleted. |

Pulver.com is all about networking people together from all over the world, and it is that goal which drove us to develop and integrate the Shared Buddy List feature into pulver.Communicator. Via pulver.Communicator, users can import the Buddy List of any of their Buddies who are using the application, once those subscribers have set their system to allow such sharing (though, of course, individuals can set pulver.Communicator to disallow the sharing of their contact information). Thus, pulver.Communicator is designed to act as a viral social networking tool.
