pulver.Communicator can be custom-configured to provide an array of event notifications, such as when a Buddy List contact comes on-line or when an email is received via a configured MSN or Yahoo account. Though Communicator's notification options are turned off by default they are all easily adjusted via the Options dialog, which is invoked via the Tools|Options command.
Setting Pop-up Notifications
|
| Pop-up notification for IM Networks status | When the checkbox is ticked you will receive notifications when the status of any configured IM network changes (refer to Logging in and out of other IM Networks). These notifications will display as flags in the bottom-right edge of your screen. |
| Pop-up notification for incoming messages | When this notification is set you will receive a notification anytime an IM message is received. The notification will also display the beginning of the message received. These notifications will display as flags in the bottom-right edge of your screen. |
| Pop-up notification for presence changes | When set you will receive a notification anytime a contact on your Buddy List changes their presence status. These notifications will display as flags in the bottom-right edge of your screen. |
| Pop-up notification for new mail on MSN or Yahoo | When this option is set you will receive a notification anytime you receive email via your MSN or Yahoo email account. These notifications will display as flags in the bottom-right edge of your screen. |
By default, all configured notifications are displayed in the bottom far-left corner of the computer screen. Ticking the Show pop-up "lower-right corner shifted" checkbox causes all set pop-up notification flags to display away from the right edge of the screen and closer to center.
To halt the alerts received each time you are added to a Buddy List, tick the Do not notify me when I am added from people in my Buddy List! checkbox.
At initial login, pulver.Communicator is set by default to provide Buddy List notification when:
The .wav sound files provided for these events at installation ― which are located in the C:\Program Files\Free World Dialup\pulver.Communicator\\Multimedia\ directory ― can be easily reset by the user. In fact, any .wav file residing on your hard drive can serve as a sound notification for the pulver.Communicator sound-enabled events.
Determine the event whose notification you wish to change and click the Browse button associated with it. An Open dialog will display.
Navigate to the hard drive location of the .wav sound file you want to use as the sound notification for the selected event, and click Open. The displayed directory structure will change to indicate the location of the selected .wave sound file.
By default, Pulver.Communicator's Buddy List notifications are enabled at initial login. Should you prefer to run the application in silence, though, these notifications can be easily disabled at anytime.

In the Notify me when section, untick the checkbox for the specific sound notification(s) you wish to disable.
